It’s important to keep the door in proper working order to ensure the safety and security of the rest of the house. If something goes wrong, you should leave it to the experts in garage door repair in Suffolk County, NY. However, there are still things you can do to avoid waking up to a screeching garage door, or one that won’t open at all.

Check that the handles, if present, are secure, not wobbly. Tighten the screws to adjust as appropriate so that the handle lifts and opens smoothly.

It’s important to verify that the cable passes through the extension spring and remains bolted tightly to the upper support bracket. Because this is the working part of your garage door, this might be the most important part of your inspection.
